China 1 in Festus

Should be a 0 star. I took one bite last night of the triple crown and tasted of mold. Never been there before and will never go back.

Fried rice is decent. Other dishes were mediocre.

BEST Chinese food in town! They serve REAL Chinese food and the portions are big for the price. Idk how anyone could write a bad review unless they were expecting mall food or something super fancy. They have the best rice, crab rangoons, everything. If you’re not picky (trying to get rice with no onions or eggs??) and stuck up and just order from the menu and realize the owner basically runs this place by himself with a little help and is there EVERY single day doing a wonderful job, you’re going to have a flawless experience like I do every time. Honestly this man deserves a vacation! I’ve never had a single problem, complaint, or mistake made, unlike every other restaurant in town. The people are very friendly and take care of their customers and their food is GREAT. I won’t get Chinese anywhere else.

The only really good Chinese food in town to eat! Love the food here and they have great service. Typically super fast and always delicious! We usually always carry out.

Nothing better than China 1 to start the weekend

First time I've been there in years. It was a spur of the moment idea so I did not call ahead. The staff was sitting at a table eating and at the time I was the only customer. It took me 45 minutes to get my food for 3 people. My Moo Goo Gai Pan had not one snow pea in it. The very WORST part is they put NO sauce in the bag for my husband's chicken egg foo young. I called to complain and I was told "my bad". I will never go back there that's for sure.

My boyfriend and I woke up really craving some lo mein. We found out on the way that they opened at noon instead of 11 on Sunday. No problem. So we sat out front and waited for about an hour, until we left at about 12:20pm. In that time we did not see a single person in the restaurant, nor a light turned on. Which means that you can expect reheated food from the night before. As well as the soda machine not being cleaned the night before, which was visible from the window. I know this, because we both work in the food industry. I should also mention that we weren't the only people waiting outside, and that the other cars left after a while as well. In the restaurant industry, that is possibly a couple hundred bucks that you've lost out on simply because there was nobody there to open the store. EDIT: We called in an order at Oriental Buffet, and ran into one of the other customers that left China One!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would . Staff is not friendly at all even when you tip. The food is some of the worst I have ever had and I travel all over the country. I had a chix and broccoli combo that when you removed the lid smelled very foul . We had veg mai fun that had absolutely no flavor. The chix wings were all batter and had a funny taste almost like they were refried and reused. The egg rolls were all mush.It was my first time and last time...

Only put one star because there wasn’t a half. Second time going second time rude rude rude. First time, years ago, when my daughter first moved to Festus, we ate inside, and ordered VEGETABLE egg rolls, they were full of pork, they yelled at us because they were the only egg rolls they had. Um, then say NO we don’t have vegetable. Second time, my daughter ran to UPS store, and got fried rice to go. Ordered egg and onion. Again got told rudely they don’t put egg in it, it’s extra. Fine, then I’ll pay extra. Was rude about how MANY eggs she wanted. Rice was yellow, instead of brownish FRIED rice. DEFINITELY will never go back. Need to learn customer service skills. I’m not surprised at how many reviews due to rudeness.

Love the food and expedience of service. Large portions for a good price. Pretty good vegetarian options, best crab rangoon I've ever tasted. I love their sticky white rice, and their fried rice is very tasty as well. I may stray, but I'll always return to China 1.

Better than lams garden that for sure better rice and sauces.

If I could give 0, I would. They overcharged my card on one charge, I have another charge still pending for some reason even though where was only one transaction and when I tried to call they would not answer. I let the phone ring for a total of 15 min after 3 phone calls because it ends the call between 4-5 min. Of course I will call again tomorrow because I have a total of $55.04 in charges when I should have been charged only $26.00.

Best food around this area, the owner and his crew are very friendly.

First and last time to visit China 1. On the good side, the portions were generous. Otherwise, the steamed dumplings were big, but very chewy and tasteless. I got the House Special Lo Mein which tasted very salty and there were hardly any vegetables and just small pieces of meat. Overall, not very good.

Wasn’t very good. Chicken was tooo dry.. paid for extra ship and there was literally 4 in the container.. I won’t be coming back. Spend 15 bucks just to toss it

Have been a regular customer for nearly six years. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant and it would take a lot to change that. Some people might claim they are rude but they really aren't, just brief and concise. I really enjoy their food. It's always cooked to perfection and the orders have always been accurate. I highly recommend this place!

I call to see if they take delivery orders, someone picks up but doesn't say anything I ask if anyone is there he quickly say "yes, what do you want?" I ask my question on if they take delivery. He again very quickly say "no" and then hangs up on me. So rude. I was willing to give this place a shot because I have been craving Chinese and lams Gardens phones seem to be down, but now I will never try their food!

Just ate from there 2 nights ago and ended up getting food poisoning. It was by far the worst place we have gotten Chinese food from since moving here. I ordered house lo main and the shrimp was just mush and it had so much oil it wal like eating room temp worms. Their egg rolls weren't much better. Will never be eating here again

Best crab Rangoon you'll ever taste! I've gone there for years. Fast service and good pricing for the portions. Can't believe it overall rating isn't at least a 4:/.

The food here is great. It's always hot and fresh. The only problem I've ever had here is, onetime I came in to order food and they were busy. I don't mind waiting for good food, but when it was my turn to order, the person behind the counter made me wait while she took four separate phone orders of calls made after I was at the counter trying to order,then took my order.Putting me fifth in line to have my food made.

Food was very bland and over cooked. 0% customer service. Not enjoyable to eat at since the dinning are is cold, unkept, every table was messy, and the interior is very ran down.

I have to say I love their food!!! But I tried to call in my order not that long ago and when I told the man I wanted “plain fried rice” he told me there was no such thing. So again I told him I just want fried rice with nothing in it, no onions, no eggs, just fried rice. He got ignorant with me again & said there’s no such thing!! So I said never mind then & he hung up on me!! He didn’t even try to explain to me what he meant or what other opinions there was!! I was very disappointed because I absolutely love their food & go here all the time. I just wish they were more willing to help

As far as flavor goes, this is the best Chinese Restaurant in the Twin City and Hillsboro area. I like the yellow fried rice, as you can't find that anywhere else around here and the homestyle bean curd (tofu and vegetables) along with vegetable lo mein are wonderful vegetarian options to choose from! I see lots of complaints about rudeness, but I have never had a problem. The same guy always answers the phone and runs the counter, and he seems very friendly to me and efficient. He knows me by now and doesn't even have to ask for my phone number when I call in an order now. Two thumbs up!

I wish there were an option of ZERO stars! Would never go back. Moved to the area and went there to grab some combo meals for my family. Got it home and the food was horrible. I called to tell them that we were new to the area and we're hoping to find a good Chinese take out but the food was just not good. The owner told me to bring it back and he would refund my money. I put the lids on the meals and took it back and then the owner refused to refund my money because he said that we ate the food! We had each taken MAYBE 2 bites out of each dinner. I asked him how he expected us to know the food was terrible if we didn't taste it! He was a very rude man. I was very polite and told him I would have just thrown it away but he was the one that told me to bring it back, I had just called to tell him how disappointed I was. He tried to get loud but the customers walked in and he got embarrassed so he refunded the cost of 2 out of 3 of our meals.

Love China 1 food is always the best. We can't get enough.
